The Fast & Furious franchise was supposed to end with ten films, but Universal changed their minds, which was a welcomed surprise for Ludacris.
Ludacris shared his joy at hearing that the Fast & Furious franchise will end with 11 films, instead of its original plan of ten, during a guest appearance on The Ellen Show.
He discussed how the recent news came as a surprise to him — Universal Pictures announced adding a film to its production schedule less than a month ago — to guest host Tiffany Haddish, as seen in the clip below.
“I’m not at all sad about it,” he said. “I came out in 2 Fast, 2 Furious. We never knew we’d get a callback for five, six, seven, eight, nine and now they’re telling me there’s gonna be 2 more? I’m happy. To hell with being sad. Don’t be sad. Be happy.”

Haddish joked in reply that since there are two films left, there’s still a chance for her to be cast in the franchise. “I know how to be fast. I know how to be furious,” she said.
Ludacris replied, “If it was 100% up to me, you’d already be in there. I’m going to try to make some conversation and see what I can do with my power to see what we can do.”
